About this role
Financial Accountant
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, support financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Petty Cash management - Keeping track of small cash expenses and ensuring there's enough cash on hand for minor purchases.
* Documenting all cash and credit purchases accurately for financial records.
* Adding new payees in the bank's online system for processing payments.
* Assisting colleagues in correctly allocating incoming payments to customer accounts.
* Regularly updating Praktora with cash and bank transactions for accurate balance sheet reconciliation.
* Ensuring all payments, whether through checks or bank transfers, are made on time and in line with company policies.
* Checking that all payment requests are accurate, complete, and have the necessary approvals and supporting documentation before processing.
* Looking into any inconsistencies in vendor accounts and reconciling monthly statements to resolve issues.
* Overseeing the processing of invoices, payments, to maintain healthy cash flow.
* Ensuring compliance with corporate tax laws and regulations, including timely filing of corporate tax returns.
* Keeping an eye on any down-payments made and ensuring they are properly closed out before month-end.
* Aiming to identify and suggest at least one way to improve existing processes, whether individually or as a team.
* Managing all employee reimbursements through Workday.
* Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory/ compliance requirements.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance management, preferably in insurance industry.
* Understanding of UAE's financial regulations, especially VAT, and international standards such as IFRS.
* Ability to use BI tools to develop data visualizations and dashboards that help track business performance metrics (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
* Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
