About the role
Position Title: Consultant Reservoir Engineer
Work Location: Kuwait
Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide technical consultation and solutions to support management decision-making on complex and unforeseen reservoir engineering challenges.
2. Define the scope of technical studies and lead activities to identify opportunities, improvements, and solutions.
3. Review major technical and commercial issues and lead the required data gathering, analysis, and resolution activities.
4. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate challenges and develop recommendations in line with industry standards and best practices.
5. Review reservoir engineering studies, analyses, forecasts, and technical data, and prepare recommendations and proposals for management.
6. Lead and review field development studies and plans and support their implementation using industry best practices.
7. Conduct and supervise integrated reservoir studies, including rate transient analysis, well modeling, reservoir simulation, forecasting, and reservoir performance management.
8. Evaluate the economic aspects of projects and recommend appropriate appraisal and field development strategies.
9. Review complex business and technical processes and recommend improvements to procedures, workflows, and change management initiatives.
10. Evaluate and advise on the implementation of emerging technologies and processes to address complex technical and operational challenges.
11. Review and provide technical input to short- and long-term business and development plans to support organizational objectives.
12. Review technical studies, policies, and procedures related to reservoir engineering and provide recommendations on critical technical and business matters.
13. Provide coaching and mentoring to reservoir engineering professionals to strengthen technical and behavioral competencies.
14. Participate in strategic technical and administrative planning and contribute to long-term organizational improvement initiatives.
15. Apply risk management principles in daily activities and promote effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
16. Perform other related duties as assigned while ensuring compliance with applicable HSE requirements and industry standards.
Qualification Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related Oil & Gas discipline.
2. Minimum 20 years of professional upstream Oil & Gas experience, preferably with significant experience in E&P environments.
3. Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
4. Extensive experience in developing, scoping, and managing complex technical studies, projects, and programs.
5. Strong expertise in integrated reservoir studies, reservoir simulation, well modeling, rate transient analysis, forecasting, and reservoir performance management.
6. Strong understanding of field development planning, reservoir evaluation, economic analysis, and appraisal strategies.
7. Demonstrated ability to provide senior-level technical consultation and recommendations on complex reservoir engineering challenges.
8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
